Division with Linking Cubes

Division can be thought of as finding how many groups of the second number can be made from the first number. Dividing 6 ÷ 3, is like counting how many groups of 3 can be made from 12. There are 2 groups, so 6 ÷ 3 = 2. Division can also be thought of as finding how many rows of the second number can be made from the first number. Since 2 rows of 3 can be made from 6, 6 ÷ 3 = 2.
